Tap. . .Tap. . . Tap

March 13, 2016

I’ve been busy working on the current manuscript and revisions are afoot. I’m loving the characters and the world and am excited to finish polishing it.

The first few months of the year are flying by, which is no surprise. I’m looking forward to spring jacket weather.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Yuletide Blessings

December 23, 2015

Happy Holidays and may this festive time be filled with the magic of the season.

December 16, 2015

Running errands in the late afternoon in December is awesome precisely because it gets dark earlier. The Christmas lights are on, both the ones downtown as well as the houses along the way. The whole town seems to get into the spirit of things, which I love.

It looks like a freaking postcard and the fairy tale atmosphere makes me happy. Some of the displays are intricate and seem to get larger every year while others are sleek, charming, or whimsical. All of them absolutely rock.

The Tooth of the Matter

October 31, 2015

Thursday I had a dentist appointment. Think of words like impacted, wisdom, & extraction x 2. But it was a good thing done and I’m happy to be a couple of days on the other side of it. Still, getting to look at them in the container after they were removed. . . eeeeeew, hehehehe.

And now to segue to a holiday that very much involves teeth, I want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!

Ahoy Mateys!

September 19, 2015

Shiver me timbers, it’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day! And a fine Saturday it be. This scurvy scalawag plans to enjoy it, and to watch the Emmys tomorrow night. I’ve got me favourites to cheer for, as usual, but I’m looking forward to all of it.

What’s that to my starboard side? Oho, I spy a bottle of Diet Pepsi in me future. Argh.

Summer, I Hardly Knew Ye

August 31, 2015

It’s the end of August already. How did that happen? It feels as though summer just zoomed by, which is okay with me since it’s my least favourite season. There are two reasons for that: heat and bugs. That being said, I can’t really complain about it this year as it was pretty decent . . . knock on wood.

Shark Week

July 6, 2015

Yesterday was the beginning of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. Every year I make it appointment television. The first night of programming was pretty awesome and the rest of the week promises to be equally great. While endlessly fascinating, I’m more than happy to watch the goings on from the comfort of my living room, hee hee. {:p

Every Journey Begins With A Single Keystroke

June 20, 2015

The work in progress is going well so far, knock on wood. It feels great when I finish my word count for the day, which is always a welcome experience. The story is unfolding and I’m intrigued to see where it takes me and my characters, leaving any assessment of it until it’s time to begin revisions. It’s a journey I’m looking forward to.

Rainy Days & Sunny Smiles

June 15, 2015

Had a good rainstorm the other day, which was much needed. There was no thunder or lightning, but at times it seemed like a torrential downpour. I loved the sound of it as the drops hit the deck, not to mention the atmospheric look of it too. Though it makes my bones ache from time to time, a rainy day still makes me smile.

I also love movies that I enjoy watching no matter how many times I’ve seen them. An old standby is National Treasure, which never ceases to amuse me. Newer favourites are Draft Day and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Triple Crown

June 7, 2015

I watched the Belmont Stakes yesterday and ended up shouting for joy and clapping up a storm, much like millions of others I suspect. After American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby, I hoped he’d win the Preakness so that he’d have a shot at the triple crown. Even so, I tried to keep my enthusiasm in check, since there have been a few horses in the last thirty-seven years with the chance to take it if they won the Belmont.

It was an exhilarating race. He led from start to finish and the jubilance of the crowd translated even on the TV screen. The announcer said he had the second fastest time among triple crown winners and the sixth fastest Belmont ever.

It was wonderful.
