Quote Day

December 30, 2009

The subject for today is the new year:

Youth is when you’re allowed to stay up late on New Year’s Eve. Middle age is when you’re forced to.
~Bill Vaughan

New Year’s Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.
~Mark Twain

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.

You are Brightly Optimistic

During the holidays, you’re the one who has a bit of cheer for everyone.
Even when things get hectic and chaotic, you keep on smiling.

You believe it’s important to have a spirit of generosity and gratitude all the time… but especially this time of year.
You get more satisfaction from giving than receiving. You’re always going out of your way to improve someone’s day a little.

It’s A Wonderful Life

December 8, 2009

CTV is airing It’s A Wonderful Life this Saturday.  Since I look forward to watching this movie every holiday season, I was thrilled when I saw it on the schedule. Even though there have been some great Christmas movies over the years, this one is my absolute favorite. I don’t often tear up when watching movies, but It’s A Wonderful Life gets me every time.

What’s your favorite Christmas movie? :lights:

December Musings

December 2, 2009

I can’t believe it’s already December. It snowed yesterday with huge flakes that gently fell on my hair, my face, and lingered for a moment before melting. It felt like I was walking in a snow globe after someone had gently shaken it. The last week and a half has also been especially productive, writing wise, and I hope that continues throughout the month. :xmascarol:
