Christmas Lights & Hot Chocolate

December 22, 2008

There are more Christmas lights than usual in the neighborhood this year and that has me feeling quite festive. :lights: I took a stroll to look at them last night and there were some truly impressive displays. Of course with the wind-chill making it feel like -25 outside, today seems like the perfect day to stay by the keyboard with a steaming mug of hot chocolate close by.

The Wrapping Paper Test

December 19, 2008

You Are Dependable and Trustworthy

You approach the holidays with drive and determination.
You’re usually the one who does all of the organizing and work.

You love being in charge of Christmas dinner, decorating the tree, and picking out presents.
You know that everything will be perfect, as long as you’re the one behind the wheel.

Of all the types, you’re the most likely to search far and wide to find the best deal on the gifts you give.
You’re also the most likely to have a very detailed system for how you wrap and label presents.

Snowflakes & Snags

December 17, 2008

The snow is falling again this morning, which looks beautiful, but also makes it more difficult for people driving to work. One thing I enjoy is watching the woofie romp around in it, his little face covered in snow when all is said and done.

I had a good day yesterday working on the new project and I’m hoping to have a similar result today. I felt like doing a happy dance when things started to come together after I’d hit a little snag.

What’cha Reading?

December 12, 2008

I’m currently reading Chosen, the third book in P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast’s House of Night series. I finished reading Betrayed, the second book in the series, earlier in the week. It rocked! Next up is Untamed, book four in the series, and then there are some books in my TBR (to be read) pile that I’m looking forward to reading! :flying:

What are you reading or about to read?  :book:

Marked

December 8, 2008

Marked

Marked is the first book in P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast’s House of Night series. I was engrossed in this story from the very beginning and I snarfed this book in record time. In this excellent young adult novel, P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast have created a fascinating world peopled with awesome characters. I loved it!

Here’s the back cover blurb:

ENTER THE DARK, MAGICAL WORLD OF THE HOUSE OF NIGHT, a world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change–and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny–with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

Birthday Reading

December 5, 2008

It’s my birthday today!!! :elephant: My sister Jessie and my brother-in-law Steve got me The House Of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast as a gift, so I plan to make some time to do a little birthday reading. :book:

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

Movie Fest

December 2, 2008

After adding a few movies to the home collection, I finally got around to watching them this past weekend. The first was Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and the second was National Treasure 2, Book Of Secrets.

I loved both of them!
