Too Wicked To Tame

Too Wicked To Tame

Too Wicked To Tame is a superb historical romance by Sophie Jordan. From the moment they meet, Heath and Portia share a fiery chemistry that grows even more intense as the plot unfolds in this lush and evocative novel.

Here’s the back cover blurb:

Would a Reluctant Beauty Ever Wed…

Headstrong Lady Portia Derring has an impeccable pedigree…and not a penny to her name. Which is why she is alone on the rain-swept Yorkshire moor, waiting for a wealthy earl she has never met but whom her family insists she wed. When she’s nearly trampled by the blackguard’s stallion, Portia is more determined than ever to refuse Heath Moreton’s suit. Handsome devil he may be, but she could never marry a rogue who’s so clearly out of control!

A Wild, Incorrigible Beast?

An avowed bachelor, scion of the notorious “Mad” Moreton clan, Heath won’t be shackled in matrimony. Why then does this rain-drenched beauty excite him so? Desire consumes him, but the eminently beddable lady resists his well-practiced seductions. Now only one route remains: Heath must ignore his bad blood, vanquish his inner beast…and prove to Portia that she’s the only woman capable of taming his heart.

Tagging Along

June 27, 2007

Kristen Painter tagged me. Then L.K. Campbell tagged me again!

A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.

B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.

C. At the end of the post we’re supposed to tag 8 people, but I’ll just invite people to consider themselves tagged if they want to.

  1. I don’t drink coffee. I don’t like the taste, though strangely enough I like coffee flavored things.
  2. I’m terribly shy and always have been.
  3. After I wash my hair there are plenty of curls and ringlets unless I brush them out.
  4. I LOVE me some pop, Coca-Cola in particular.
  5. I used to not be a morning person. Ever since I got my woofie, Oscar, almost six years ago, morning has become my most productive time of day.
  6. I have a cat named Puce. (It’s not pronounced like the color. It’s French for flea.) Even though he arrived a year or so before the dog, Oscar considers Puce his cat.
  7. At seventeen I went to college for a two-year diploma program in pre-media and the performing arts. After receiving my diploma I then went to University and earned my English degree.
  8. I love watching Canadian and American Idol as well as Dancing With the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance!

For those of you who want to participate, feel free to consider yourselves tagged.

A Kiss Before Dawn

A Kiss Before Dawn

A Kiss Before Dawn is a gripping historical romance by Kimberly Logan. I devoured this book because I had to know what would happen to Peter and Emily. The wealth of emotion in this novel made for a lovely reading experience.

Here’s the back cover blurb:

It takes a thief to catch a thief…
and one kiss to steal a heart.

For one brief moment, Lady Emily Knight knew what heaven was when she shared a soul-searing kiss with Peter. But a penniless youth schooled in the London Streets cannot love a beautiful heiress–so he vanished, leaving Emily heartbroken…

Now a formidable Bow Street Runner, Peter returns to hunt down an elusive thief who’s been preying on the Oxfordshire wealthy–even though his mission must inevitably reunite him with the sensuous beauty who haunts his dreams and whose taste still lingers on his lips.

But as tantalizing embraces enflame their passion once more, will Emily’s knowledge of the thief’s true identity transform desire into distrust and impassioned lovers into dangerous adversaries?

The Nymph King is the third book in Gena Showalter’s fabulous Atlantis series. Valerian is a compelling hero and Shaye is more than his match in this scorching, hilarious, and thoroughly entertaining tale!

Here’s the back cover blurb:

enter a World of dark seduction
and powerful magic…

The cynical Shaye wants nothing to do with the mighty warlord, but she’s inexlicably drawn to him. For underneath the warrior’s arrogant beauty lies a complex and powerful man. A man whose caress is like fire…

Now Valerian must fight for the privilege of claiming her as his own. Because there’s one thing Shaye doesn’t know….

That when a nymph discovers his true mate, she’s his for life.

What Kind of Wine Are You?

June 13, 2007

You Are Chardonnay

Fresh, spirited, and classic - you have many facets to your personality.
You can be sweet and light. Or deep and complex.
You have a little bit of something to offer everyone… no wonder you’re so popular.
Approachable and never smug, you are easy to get to know (and love!).

Deep down you are: Dependable and modest

Your partying style: Understated and polite

Your company is enjoyed best with: Cold or wild meat
