The subject for today is attitude:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
~Herm Albright, quoted in Reader’s Digest, June 1995
If you don’t get everything you want, think of the things you don’t get that you don’t want.
~Oscar Wilde
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

I’m looking forward to the Academy Awards on Sunday night.
I like watching the red carpet arrivals to see what everyone’s wearing, and I also love the unexpected moments that often happen during the ceremony. There are a lot of wonderful nominees, but the one I’d most love to see win is Jennifer Hudson.
Who are you cheering for?

The subject for today is enthusiasm:
Apathy can be overcome by enthusiasm, and enthusiasm can only be aroused by two things: first, an ideal, with takes the imagination by storm, and second, a definite intelligible plan for carrying that ideal into practice.
–Arnold Toynbee
We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.
–Charles Kinglsey
Years wrinkle the face, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.

Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, was heartfelt and romantic. Colin and Penelope shared a deep and beguiling chemistry that continued to grow throughout the novel. With enchanting characters, a delightful story, and a thoroughly satisfying ending, Romancing Mister Bridgerton was a joy to read.
Here’s the back cover blurb:
“Everyone knows that Colin Bridgerton is the most charming man in London.”
Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers, March 1824
Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend’s brother for…well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret…and fears she doesn’t know him at all.
Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of the neverending sameness of his life, and, most of all, tired of everyone’s preoccupation with the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can’t seem to publish an edition without mentioning him in the first paragraph. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same–especially Penelope Featherington! The girl who was always simply…there is suddenly the girl haunting his dreams. But when he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide…is she his biggest threat–or his promise of a happy ending?
