My M&M
I saw this on Larissa Ione’s blog and couldn’t resist getting an M&M version of myself.

Challenge is the subject for today:
Above all, challenge yourself. You may well surprise yourself at what strengths you have, what you can accomplish.
–Cecile M. Springer
Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.
–Bernice Johnson Reagon
Providence has hidden a charm in difficult undertakings, which is appreciated only by those who dare to grapple with them.

I’ve been battling a wretched cold for more than a week with my trusty Halls, Kleenex, and vitamin c. I now–knock on wood–sound like something approaching human. One interesting benefit, if you will, is that my appetite has decreased quite a bit. This didn’t prevent me from indulging in a little ice cream, however, strictly for medicinal purposes, of course.
What comfort foods do you indulge in when you’re under the weather?
Jaci Burton tagged me.
Contemporary, Historical, or Paranormal?
I read all of them!
Hardback, Trade, or Mass Market Paperback?
All three are great in their own distinctive ways, but I love the bendable quality of trades.
Heyer or Austen?
Austen.
Amazon or Brick and Mortar?
They’re both cool. Amazon is fantastic for hard to find books and sometimes it’s nice to have them delivered to your door. Going to the bookstore is great for the ambiance and when you want your book/s that day.
Barnes & Noble or Borders?
I’m Canadian, so it’s Chapters for me.
Woodiwiss or Lindsay?
Woodiwiss. I’ve read many of her books and two of my favorites are Shanna and So Worthy My Love.
First romance novel you ever remember reading?
Loving Julia by Karen Robards.
Alphabetize by author Alphabetize by title or random?
I don’t alphabetize. I just put all the books I have by an author together and then do the same with the next author.
Keep, Throw Away or Sell?
I keep them or give them away.
Read with dustjacket or remove it?
I leave it on.
Sookie Stackhouse or Anita Blake?
I haven’t read either series.
Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
I try to stop at chapter breaks unless I’m so tired I end up reading the same line a few times.
“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”?
Ideally, something that includes both.
Crusie or SEP?
I haven’t read any of their books.
Buy or Borrow?
Buy.
Buying Choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation, or Browse?
It’s a mix of browsing and recommendations.
Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?
I like a tidy ending. In a series, a cliffhanger is okay, as long as there’s some measure of resolution in the book I’m reading.
Morning, Afternoon, or Nighttime reading?
Nighttime. I have to read before I can fall asleep.
Series or standalone?
I love series/connected books.
Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?
Like Jaci, I don’t think there’s anything on my bookshelf no one has heard of.

Surviving Demon Island by Jaci Burton kept me on the edge of my seat. The story was an exciting adventure filled with passion, danger, and more than a few twists and turns. Derek and Gina shared a scintillating chemistry that practically burned the pages. There’s a sneak peek of the next Demon Hunter book at the end of this one and it promises to be a great read as well.
Kudos to Jaci Burton for creating this compelling world.
Here’s the back cover blurb:
SHE’S ALL CURVES AND COMBAT BOOTS. HE’S SIX FEET OF LEAN, DANGEROUS MALE. JOIN THEM IN A GAME OF SURVIVAL THAT’S AS REAL–AND HOT–AS IT GETS.
What’s America’s top female action star doing on a tropical island shrouded in secrecy? To Gina Bliss, competing in a survival-type reality show is a nice change from fending off on-screen villains. Until she meets real-life action hero Derek Marks. A survival specialist in a tight black T and sexy stubble, he’s arousing every bad-boy fantasy she’s ever had…and testing her survival skills to the max.
Martial arts, jungle warfare–Derek’s done it all. But his latest mission is more dangerous than a stick of dynamite. Try telling that to the sexy, adrenaline-pumped actress who’s got his libido racing off the charts. As the heat rises between them and real-life violence erupts, suddenly Derek and Gina are on the run…and when they uncover a secret so explosive it could blow the lid off their so-called reality show, these two unlikely heroes are about to discover what surviving’s really about….
