Festive TV

November 27, 2016

Even though it’s not December yet, there have been a plethora of holiday TV movies. I’ve watched many already, the heartwarming tales brimming with romance and good cheer. And each year it’s fun to add new ones to the list along with rewatching old favourites.

Jacket Weather

September 3, 2016

It seems we went right from summer to jacket weather and I’m so not complaining. I love when there’s a breeze in the air and no bugs. Revisions are going along, which is a good thing and it’s almost time for the new fall TV season.

There are a number of new shows that look intriguing to me and I hope they turn out to be as good as their ads. A few weeks left to summer but autumn is just around the corner and that is happy making.

Ahoy Mateys!

September 19, 2015

Shiver me timbers, it’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day! And a fine Saturday it be. This scurvy scalawag plans to enjoy it, and to watch the Emmys tomorrow night. I’ve got me favourites to cheer for, as usual, but I’m looking forward to all of it.

What’s that to my starboard side? Oho, I spy a bottle of Diet Pepsi in me future. Argh.

Shark Week

July 6, 2015

Yesterday was the beginning of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. Every year I make it appointment television. The first night of programming was pretty awesome and the rest of the week promises to be equally great. While endlessly fascinating, I’m more than happy to watch the goings on from the comfort of my living room, hee hee. {:p

The Triple Crown

June 7, 2015

I watched the Belmont Stakes yesterday and ended up shouting for joy and clapping up a storm, much like millions of others I suspect. After American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby, I hoped he’d win the Preakness so that he’d have a shot at the triple crown. Even so, I tried to keep my enthusiasm in check, since there have been a few horses in the last thirty-seven years with the chance to take it if they won the Belmont.

It was an exhilarating race. He led from start to finish and the jubilance of the crowd translated even on the TV screen. The announcer said he had the second fastest time among triple crown winners and the sixth fastest Belmont ever.

It was wonderful.

The Sword & the Pen

June 4, 2015

The Hardhome episode of Game of Thrones that aired last Sunday was fantastic. I actually burst into applause during the battle between Jon Snow and the White Walker. In between covering my mouth and hoping certain characters survived the fight and gasping at what happened to various Wildlings and men of the Night’s Watch, not to mention a certain giant, I was completely absorbed.

I’m working on a new project that’s also consumed my attention in the best possible way. I adore the idea and am excited to see how it develops. It’s a nice feeling.

Fall Musings

October 19, 2014

It’s October and the new TV season is in full swing. There are a lot of really good shows and I’m enjoying them, along with the ones that were already on my to watch list.

The weather has been lovely, but then again I like it when a jacket is required. A little crisp in the air is invigorating and the decrease in bugs is always a hit with me. Halloween decorations are sprouting up around town and it won’t be too long before that veers right into Christmas. The festive gives me a happy.

And, of course, there’s lots going on to keep me busy. Something everyone can relate to, I’m sure. :)

Game of Thrones Season Finale

June 15, 2014

The Game of Thrones season finale was absolutely epic. I thought the whole season was spectacular, but tonight’s episode was unfreakingbelievable! I just wish I could start watching the next season right now. Alas, ’tis not to be :(

Oh well, I’ll have to console myself with season two of The Witches of East End, which thankfully, begins in three weeks. And now I shall commence happy dancing.

TV Talk

November 23, 2013

I’m loving this fall TV season. The returning shows that are already part of my viewing schedule have been fantastic and, of course, there are some new favourites. The top four I look forward to are:

Sleepy Hollow
Witches of East End
Almost Human
&
The Blacklist

Game of Thrones

April 4, 2013

Since I don’t have a cable package that gets HBO, I’ve listened to people talk about Game of Thrones for the past two seasons. It sounded fantastic and the few clips I saw only confirmed my initial impression. Well, Showcase, a channel I do get, is now playing the first season every Friday. I’m soooo loving it. And knowing some of the stuff that’s going to happen hasn’t diminished my enjoyment one iota.

Even cooler, my sister has read the books and watched the series from the beginning. I have so much fun emailing her after each episode to discuss what’s transpired and ask questions. It’s awesome.

When next I visit her I’ll be able to catch up too since she has the first two seasons on DVD and is DVRing the third. I’ve been informed that I’m to have a viewing marathon during my vacation.

Oh the hardship. }:)
