From Winter to Summer

May 9, 2017

Even though the calendar says it’s spring it feels like we went from winter straight into summer. There was snow late into April and, without missing a beat, the balmy temperatures arrived.

Nonetheless, it’s great to wear sneakers outside again.

The Keyboard Compass

January 15, 2017

The Christmas tree was finally dismantled today, put back in storage until next time. It was nice to leave it up a bit longer to enjoy the lights etc., but alas, like all good things. . . .

The writing plans for the new year are in full swing and it’s always fun to take that journey.

Fun

October 26, 2016

Lately I’ve been thinking about the important role fun plays in life. It distracts, refreshes, celebrates, renews hope etc. And that, of course, got me to thinking about how to infuse more of it into everything I do. Needless to say it’s a project that I’m more than happy to take on. :)

Jacket Weather

September 3, 2016

It seems we went right from summer to jacket weather and I’m so not complaining. I love when there’s a breeze in the air and no bugs. Revisions are going along, which is a good thing and it’s almost time for the new fall TV season.

There are a number of new shows that look intriguing to me and I hope they turn out to be as good as their ads. A few weeks left to summer but autumn is just around the corner and that is happy making.

Summer Weather

June 10, 2016

Even though summer doesn’t arrive until later this month, the weather has gotten a head start. The last few days have been more humid than normal, but there’s also been a fair amount of rain, which is good for the farmers. It is cool when the rain splatters against the deck, the sound comforting.

I’ve been working on my writing and am looking forward to the path ahead. The blooming flowers and the green all around is a beautiful sight to behold whenever I go out, and it’s a pleasure to take it all in.

The Tooth of the Matter

October 31, 2015

Thursday I had a dentist appointment. Think of words like impacted, wisdom, & extraction x 2. But it was a good thing done and I’m happy to be a couple of days on the other side of it. Still, getting to look at them in the container after they were removed. . . eeeeeew, hehehehe.

And now to segue to a holiday that very much involves teeth, I want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!

Summer, I Hardly Knew Ye

August 31, 2015

It’s the end of August already. How did that happen? It feels as though summer just zoomed by, which is okay with me since it’s my least favourite season. There are two reasons for that: heat and bugs. That being said, I can’t really complain about it this year as it was pretty decent . . . knock on wood.

Rainy Days & Sunny Smiles

June 15, 2015

Had a good rainstorm the other day, which was much needed. There was no thunder or lightning, but at times it seemed like a torrential downpour. I loved the sound of it as the drops hit the deck, not to mention the atmospheric look of it too. Though it makes my bones ache from time to time, a rainy day still makes me smile.

I also love movies that I enjoy watching no matter how many times I’ve seen them. An old standby is National Treasure, which never ceases to amuse me. Newer favourites are Draft Day and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Fall Musings

October 19, 2014

It’s October and the new TV season is in full swing. There are a lot of really good shows and I’m enjoying them, along with the ones that were already on my to watch list.

The weather has been lovely, but then again I like it when a jacket is required. A little crisp in the air is invigorating and the decrease in bugs is always a hit with me. Halloween decorations are sprouting up around town and it won’t be too long before that veers right into Christmas. The festive gives me a happy.

And, of course, there’s lots going on to keep me busy. Something everyone can relate to, I’m sure. :)

Move It }:)

August 16, 2013

I’ve been busy packing and getting ready for the big move next week. While it has been exhausting at times, it’s also cool to see how everything is coming together. I’m so ready for this new adventure.
